In this corner, wearing gold trunks that match his bad spray tan: Rogue Farms Honey Kolsch
In the opposite corner, wearing orange trunks and letting the juice run down his face: Clown Shoes Mango Kolsch
Number of Beer Snob Squad Judges: 4
When the bell rings Mango makes the first move and is clearly the aggressor, throwing haymakers of mango flavor, some landing squarely and some missing entirely. Rogue lets Mango wear himself out a bit before landing a few body shots of pilsner malt taste. Mango seems unaffected and uses some bitter hoppy kicks to try to take Rogue to the mat. Rogue senses an opportunity, and uses its honey smoothness to leg-sweep Mango who hits the canvas. Just as Rogue thinks he has the upper hand Mango uses a complex takedown of his own, leaving them both lying there on their backs. They each scramble to get each other in submission holds, and now it looks like a stalemate. Let’s go to the judges table for the decision.
AND THE WINNER IS: No One! (It’s a Draw). This match was so close the judges ended up gridlocked 2-2.
Due to it being a judges decision, neither side is able to execute a “finishing move”.
Why Rogue Farms Honey Kolsch got 2 votes: The overall mouthfeel, smoothness and pleasant aftertaste, along with floral honey tones made two judges think it had won the match.
Why Clown Shoes Mango Kolsch got 2 votes: The other two judges felt that Mango Kolsch was just more interesting, had more bitterness as a balancing point and was more complex.
Maybe a rematch with additional judges is in order… Let the trash talk begin!
